Radio Department
The Radio Department at Aero Instruments & Avionics, Inc. offers complete testing, repair, and overhaul of all Bendix, Collins, and King Arinc 500 and 700 series avionics, as well as the complete line of Collins Proline equipment. In addition, we have recently added support for the Rockwell/Collins EDU, Thales FCD cockpit displays and most recently Honeywell's TPA-81A TCAS Processor.

We maintain three Iris 2000 ATE RF test stations which support the VHF Comm, HF Comm, ATC Transponders (including both Bendix TRA-67A and Collins TPR-720 Mode S), DME, VOR/ILS Nav Receivers and Marker Receivers.

In addition, we also offer redundant manual test stations (Arinc 500/700 and Proline) which support all LRU's including ADF, Radio Altimeters, and Weather Radar.

A recent acquisition of factory test panels allow Aero Instruments to support both the COLLINS Electronic Display Unit (EDU-766/776) used on Boeing 737/757/767 aircraft and the THALES Full Color Display (FCD-66) used on the Airbus A319/320/321 aircraft.

Our Radar Department offers support for both the Bendix (RDR-4A) and Collins (WRT-701X) ARINC 700 Series Digital Radar Transceivers along with the complete family of Bendix PPI-4B and Collins WXI-700 Radar / TCAS Indicators. We also have complete Support for the Bendix RDR-1E/F Radar System as well as the Honeywell Primus 90 Weather Radar System.

All of Aero's Radio Department technicians possess a F.C.C. General Radiotelephone License, each with a wide variety of previous experience from diverse backgrounds such as military avionics/maintenance, guided missile radar technology, radio & television station maintenance, and A&P Technicians.

Our personnel have at their fingertips some of the latest state-of the-art test troubleshooting equipment available. Our resources include the complete line of JcAir test panels (T1200 CDU, T1201, 02, 03 DFIU) and the Fluke 9010A and 9100A Micro-System troubleshooter for the support of ARINC 700 equipment. In addition, we have acquired some of the finest RF Signal sources and T/S equipment available. These include Industry Standards such as IFR's (ATC 1400A/S-1403, RD-300, RD-301, RDX-7708C, and COM 120B), JcAir's (429EX, Nav 2000R and SDX 2000) and the HP/Agilent's family of Digital O-Scopes/Logic and Spectrum Analyzers as well as a wide array of the latest RF Signal Generators.
