For more than 17 years, the Engineering / ATE
Department has played a major role in keeping Aero Instruments & Avionics,
Inc. a leader in avionics maintenance. Our experienced in-house Engineering
staff allows us to react swiftly to customer needs. We believe in taking
advantage of the latest in technology and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to
provide our customers with superior quality and short turn times. Working
closely with the avionics technicians that test and troubleshoot customer units,
our engineers design, maintain, and update new automated / semi-automated test
equipment and Test Program Sets (TPS).
Our extensive experience in TPS design
and development made the acquisition of Martron Systems from Lockheed Martin in
the first quarter of 1996 a smooth and natural evolution. Although our agreement
with Lockheed Martin to provide continued support of existing users of Martron
ATE's ended in 1999, we still offer Martron support in a limited capacity.

We also design, build and
maintain many PC based test systems to facilitate the testing of Avionics and
Instruments that do not require the full suite of resources contained in a
dedicated ATE.
Our engineers are proficient in a
wide variety of hardware and software systems. Software can be developed in
numerous programming languages including ATLAS, HP BASIC, Visual BASIC, Visual
C++, Lab Windows and LabView. Hardware configurations range from simple
semi-automatic tests using a desktop computer with a serial RS-232 port, to full
scale ATE development using the latest in bus architectures. Our engineering
staff has the resources available to design, emulate and fabricate circuit
boards using state of the art CAD and SPICE circuit emulation programs. We also
design and manufacture custom test panels to satisfy diverse selection of
testing requirements.
